One death in Leh, 82 new cases

JAMMU, Nov 7: An old woman died of COVID-19 in Jammu district today while 208 persons tested positive, 96 of them in Jammu district, and 254 recovered from the virus. Today’s cases took Jammu’s Corona tally beyond 39,000
A 76-year-old woman, who was co-morbid and positive for COVID-19, died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu where she was admitted on November 3.
Of 208 persons who tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu region, 96 hailed from Jammu district and 88 of them were locals.
Thirty eight persons reported positive in Udhampur district, 19 Ramban, 18 Kishtwar, 15 Rajouri, seven Poonch, five Kathua, four Reasi and three each in Samba and Doda districts.
Of 254 persons who recovered from the virus today, 106 belonged to Jammu district followed by 63 Reasi, 28 each in Udhampur and Kishtwar, 10 Poonch, nine Kathua, seven Rajouri, two Doda and one in Ramban district. No recoveries were reported from Samba district.
Jammu region now has 39096 Corona cases. Of them, 1510 are active positives while 37071 have recovered and there have been 515 casualties.
Of 515 fatalities, the maximum 266 have been reported from Jammu district, 48 each Rajouri and Doda, 33 Kathua, 32 Udhampur, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 18 Ramban, 15 Kishtwar and eight in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported one more Corona casualty and 72 fresh cases.
An 82-year-old man from Leh died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 taking death count to 80-42 in Leh and 38 in Kargil.
Of 72 new Corona cases in Ladakh, 64 were reported from Leh and eight from Kargil.
With this, UT’s Corona cases have gone up to 6790. Among them, 816 are active positives while 5894 have recovered from the virus.
