JAMMU, Jan 18: A woman died today after being hit by a bike in Gandhi Nagar area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, an unmarried woman identified as Indu Bala (59) daughter of Sundar Dass, resident of Narwal Pain (Satwari), received serious injuries this morning when she was hit by a speeding bike on national highway near Peer Baba in Digiana area, while crossing the road.
The bike rider immediately shifted the injured woman to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 4 PM. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital.
In this connection, Gandhi Nagar police had registered a case and started investigations. The two-wheeler involved in the mishap was also seized while efforts were on to nab the accused bike rider.
