Woman drug-peddler arrested, associate flee

RAJOURI, Nov 1: The police today arrested a woman drug- peddler from Dhangri Chowk area and recovered about 10 grams of contraband drug from her possession.
Locals from the area informed police that a lady is moving suspiciously with a youth in the area and also apprehended that she is in possession of some sensitive and illegal material.
On this, a team from Police Station, Rajouri headed by SHO, Ajaz Haider under the supervision of DySP HQrs Rajouri, Govind Rattan was rushed to the spot who managed to intercept the lady who was later identified as Naila Kouser, wife of Tasveer Shah, a resident of Dhangri.
About 10-11 grams of drugs (powder) was recovered from her possession which was seized by Police. A case FIR No. 619/2018 under Sections 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered against accused woman while a man has also been booked who was also involved in peddling of drugs, managed to escape. The police however, refused to share his identity, expecting his arrest and recovery over night.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas has lauded the positive approach of the people from Dhangri who played vital role in the arrest of lady drug-peddler. He appealed for similar cooperation from the people.
