JAMMU, July 25: A woman drug peddler was arrested by police in RS Pura area here and 1.5 grams of heroin was recovered from her possession.
A police official said that during routine naka checking, a woman, on way to RS Pura from Puro Bhana area, started behaving weirdly on seeing the police party and tried to flee from the spot.
He said the alert jawans led by SHO RS Pura successfully apprehended the woman identified as Tara Devi alias Tannu of Puro Bhana, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
On her search, he said, 1.5 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered from her possession.
Accordingly, the accused woman has been booked in case FIR number 152/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
