JAMMU, Sept 3: A 55-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by hanging here at Rajpura Mangotrian area on Sunday, officials said.
Mohani Devi wife of Radha Krishan of Rajpura Mangotrian was battling depression and was on medication, they said, adding, she was found hanging inside her room around 8 pm.
Soon after getting information, a police team from Police Post Sarwal reached at the spot and shifted the woman to Government Medical College Jammu where doctors declared her as dead on arrival, officials said.
While the body of the woman has been shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu for conducting the post-mortem police have initiated inquest proceedings under CrPC 174 to further probe the matter.
