JAMMU, Dec 22: A woman was today found murdered in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a woman identified as Asha Devi (40) wife of Mahavir Singh, a resident of UP, at present residing in Vishal Nagar (Talab Tillo, Jammu), was found murdered this evening at Saini Mohalla in Pounichak area.
He said as some people were passing through a lane at Saini Mohalla, they felt some foul smell coming from a sewerage line and found a dead body of a woman lying inside.
On getting information, a police team from police post Pounichak led by Incharge SI Sumit Magotra reached the spot, evicted the body from the sewerage line and shifted it to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
When contacted, SI Sumit Magotra said that they have registered a murder case against unknown persons and started investigations while body of the deceased will be handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after conducting post mortem.
