JAMMU, Dec 1: Gandhi Nagar Police today arrested a woman drug peddler and recovered 875 grams of heroin from his possession.
Giving details regarding the arrest and seizure, a police spokesman said that a naka was established near Cremation Ground culvert by a team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma along with SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma in the area under their jurisdiction.
He further added that a lady identified as Rubina Kouser wife of Sakinder Hayat, resident of Jhangar Sariah (tehsil Nowshera, district Rajouri) was rounded up as she behaved suspiciously on seeing police team and tried to run on being questioned, but was apprehended swiftly by the police team.
“During search, 875 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the woman,” the spokesman said, adding, a case FIR Number 306/2022 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and the accused arrested.
The arrest and recovery was made under the overall supervision of SP South Mamta Sharma.
