JAMMU : A woman was killed and 19 were injured when a bus skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. “A bus on way from Sungri to Rajouri this morning met with an accident near Mandirgala, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn and it plunged into 100-feet deep gorge,” a police official here said.
Police, Army and locals immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the district hospital. “One of the injured identified as Rehana Bi, 75, resident of Turi Bala, succumbed to her injuries,” police said. They added that the injured persons were being treated at District Hospital Rajouri.
Police have registered a case and started investigations. (AGENCIES)
