JAMMU, Aug 26: A woman was killed while his husband received serious injuries in a road mishap in Gangyal area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as BD Sharma (80) son of Amar Nath, resident of Trikuta Nagar and his wife, Leelo Devi (60), received serious injuries when the scooter bearing registration number JK02A-7772 on which they were travelling this afternoon, was hit by a truck bearing registration number JK02W-1187 near petrol pump at Gangyal.
“In serious condition both husband and wife were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where the lady succumbed to her injuries at about 3 pm during treatment”, the spokesman said, adding the condition of the man was also stated to be serious.
He said that the body of the deceased lady was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Gangyal and investigations started.
