JAMMU, Feb 16: A woman was killed in accident in village Chak Suba area of tehsil Bishnah here today.
As per police sources, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AN-4072 was hit by a dumper bearing registration number JK21D-0670 in village Chak Suba area of Bishnah, resulting into on the spot death of a lady.
The deceased has been identified as Radha, wife of Ranka, a resident of Village Majua Laxmi Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu. She was riding on the motorcycle with her husband when the accident took place.
After conducting autopsy, the body of the deceased lady was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
However, acting swiftly, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by Incharge SHO Inspector Anil Choudhary seized the dumper and detained its owner.
A case under FIR Number 25/2021 under Sections 279 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and hunt has been also launched to nab the driver of the dumper, who escaped from the spot.
