JAMMU, May 4: A young housewife died in a fire accident in Akhnoor area while a man was killed today in a road accident at Amphalla in Jammu.
According to a police official, Kajal Devi (23) wife of Deepak Kumar, resident of Palwan, received about 100 percent burn injuries on April 26 in a fire that broke out in the kitchen of her house due to leakage of domestic gas cylinder.
“The woman succumbed to her injuries late last night in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu,” he said, adding, inquest proceedings has already been initiated in the case by Akhnoor police.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man namely Abdul Majid Lohar son of Ghulam Mohd Lohar, resident of Loran Mandi, was hit and seriously injured today by an unknown vehicle at Amphalla. He was immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 2: 20 PM.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while police post Rehari had taken cognizance of the matter and initiated investigations.
