JAMMU, June 22: Facing financial crunch, a young lady poisoned her daughter to death and later ended her life also by consuming the same poison in her parental house at Channi Himmat.
As per reports, lady identified as Palvi Gupta, wife of Parvesh of Talli Morh, Miran Sahib poisoned her five year old daughter Malni and later ended her life also by consuming the same poison in her parental house at Channi Himmat.
Finding them unconscious, the parents of the lady informed the police and both were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced them as brought dead.
The bodies have been shifted to mortuary of GMC Hospital for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
The husband of the lady was working in a call centre at New Delhi and was not sending money to home, which might be the reason behind this incident, police said but added that nothing could be ruled till investigation is completed.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered in this regard at police station Channi Himmat and investigation started to ascertain the exact reason behind such extreme step.
