UDHAMPUR, Apr 4: An elderly woman was mauled by bear at village Ladda in tehsil Chenani, this evening.
According to the reports, the victim namely Rano Devi (60), wife of Badri Nath of village Ladda, was returning home after grazing domestic animal in forest area when a bear suddenly attacked her. The victim was seriously injured in the bear attack. Locals and family members took her to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors immediately referred her to District Hospital Udhampur.
The villagers have appealed the Wildlife Department to take necessary action and capture the bear for avoiding such incidents in future.
