JAMMU, Jan 13: A woman was raped by a youth when she had gone to the higher reaches to cut woods at Berhu, about 20 kilometers from Bhaderwah town in Doda district today.
Police said the accused Sanjay Kumar, 35, son of Behari Lal R/o Berhu kidnapped the woman from the upper reaches when she was cutting wood and raped her.
The woman later informed her family, who approached Bhalla police post.
Police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused, who has been booked in FIR No. 5/2013 under Section 376 RPC.
Police sent the woman for medical examination and later restored her to the family members.
