Woman rescued, kidnapper held

JAMMU, Apr 16: Police today arrested a youth, who had allegedly kidnapped a married woman from Rajbagh area of Kathua district, at High Court Road under the jurisdiction of Janipura police station this morning.
Police identified the accused as Anwar-ul-Hassan, a resident of Poonch, presently putting up at Bhatindi. He had allegedly kidnapped Zubaida Begum of Bakral Colony, Rajbagh in Kathua district, who had married only one and a half month back.
On a tip off, a Janipura police station team headed by SHO Inspector Narinder Singh arrested the kidnapper from High Court road and rescued the kidnapped woman.
Police have sounded Rajbagh police station about the arrest of alleged kidnapper and recovery of the woman. Both would be handed over to Rajbagh police. The girl would be restored to her family after medical examination.
A case against the kidnapper has already been registered at Rajbagh police station.
