Woman saved from committing suicide

JAMMU, Apr 4: Besides ensuring lockdown due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, Gharota police saved a woman from committing suicide.
As per police sources, a team from Gharota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Sharma along with PSI Avinash, PSI Rohit, Constable Anil, Constable Rahul, Constable Deepak and SgCT Vijay Inder during patrolling found a lady roaming aimlessly over river Chenab bridge near Thathi.
The lady aged around 23 years tried to commit suicide by jumping from river Chenab bridge, but the cops thwarted her attempt by acting swift and timely.
On getting information, SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma also reached the spot and during interaction with the lady, it came to fore that the lady was upset due to some family issue.
The lady was counseled before being handed over to the family.
