JAMMU, Mar 31: A 27-year-old woman, who was set on fire by her jilted lover in Bishnah area earlier this month, breathed her last today.
Indu Balla wife of Rakesh Singh of Khour, was set ablaze outside her parental house at Chak Chua Village in Bishnah Tehsil by one Vicky Kumar of Chak Jalala on March 21, 2023 after the duo had heated verbal exchange over some issue.
Soon after attacking the woman, Vicky Kumar also tried to end his life by jumping into a well but he survived.
In the incident, the woman, Indu Bala, received 70% burn injuries. She was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, where she breathed her last today.
“A case under relevant sections of the law was already registered against the accused, who was arrested soon after the attack,” SHO Bishnah, Vikram Sharma said, adding, “today we’ve added section 302 in the case already registered against the accused at Police Station Bishnah”.
