JAMMU, Nov 22: A young woman today allegedly made an abortive attempt on her life by setting self on fire at her residence in Narwal Pain area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Meena Sharma (26) wife of Shiv Kumar, a resident of Narwal Pain area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Satwari, allegedly sets self on fire this morning by sprinkling kerosene oil on her.
The woman received about 95 % burn injuries in the incident and was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where her condition is stated to be critical.
According to the police they have registered a case in this connection and are waiting for the statement of the victim, as presently she is not fit for statement.
