RAJOURI, Dec 11: The dead body of a woman was found hanging inside her house in Argi-Sangyot village in Rajouri area today.
Parents of the woman accused her in-laws of murdering her and appealed for justice. Her father Mohinder Singh, who reached GMC Rajouri with the dead body of the woman, told that about 18 months ago, Chandni Devi was married to Ravi Kumar, a resident of Sagyot village. A few days after the marriage, her in-laws started harassing her for more dowry.
Not only this, Chandni was also beaten many times. The neighbours of the deceased woman called him and told him that his daughter was hanging at in-law’s home and there was no one at home.
When her parents went to her in-laws’ house, they found that there was no one in her in-laws’ house and their daughter was hanging in a room. He informed police which reached the spot and took possession of the body and shifted it to GMC for post-mortem. No one from her in-laws reached the GMC.
The police registered a case and after conducting post-mortem, handed over the body to the family and started further investigation.
