Woman’s body found lying near spring

RAJOURI, Mar 4: Mystery shrouds the death of a 35-year-old woman whose half-naked body was found lying at a water spring near her house at village Metka in Kalakote area of  district Rajouri this morning.
A police official identified the deceased as Kajal Dutta, wife of Sumesh Dutta alias Sonu, resident of Metka.  He said that the deceased’s body was lying half-naked and a pot and soap was also lying nearby at the spring. The family sources told the police that she had gone to take bath at the village spring (Bowali) at around 5.30 am and did not return after long.
A neighbourer noticed the body of  the woman lying there at the spring and rushed to Dutta’s home to tell them about the matter. They covered the body with cloth and then informed Kalakote police. Kajal’s husband Sumesh is driver in GREF and he leaves early in the morning. Today also he had already left the home for work. After receiving information, he also returned.
A Police party led by SHO Kalakote,  Chaman Gorkha rushed to the site and after examining the spot, the body was shifted to Kalakote hospital. On the intervention of  family members of the deceased, the body was then shifted to District Hospital Rajouri where a Medical Board comprising of three doctors, conducted postmortem. The family alleged that it was clear case of murder. The parents and other relatives of Kajal had also reached there.
After postmortem, the body of the  deceased was handed over to the family for last rites. The SHO said that investigation under 174 CrPC has been started. He said the police was working on some vital clues received in this regard.
