Woman’s pyre burnt in front of husband’s house

RAJOURI, Oct 15: In a rare incident of its kind, the in-laws burnt the pyre of their married daughter in front of the house of their son-in-law in tehsil Kalakote today.
Reports said Sushma Devi had strained relations with her husband Mohinder Singh for the past some time. She was neglected by in-laws and presently staying with the parents at Siot village. As the woman was ailing she died at parents house last night.
Today the parents and relatives of the woman moved to Bain Nambla village in Taryath (Kalakote) along with dead body of Sushma and burnt her pyre in front of the house of their son-in-law. The locals objected to it and called police. The agitated relatives beaten up Mohinder Singh and some cops who tried to object. Mohinder and one constable Rashpal were later admitted to Kalakote hospital. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
