Women be provided equal rights: Luthra

JAMMU, Feb 26: National Conference former MLA and State vice president of the Women Wing of the party, Bimla Luthra today said that women should be provided equal rights in the politics and other fields.
While addressing a women workers’ meeting at village Kothe Sleharh in R.S Pura today, the NC leader stressed for the equal rights and share for the women in every field. She said women are capable enough to work in any field. They should not be discriminated.
Luthra further said that party stands by its politics of truth and remains steadfast on its commitments made with the public. The party’s agenda has always been in line with peace and progress of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Former MLA said the women should get equal rights and opportunities to participate in the democratic institutions and also in other fields as they are second to none. She also urged women to come forward and play their crucial role in the decision making bodies.
She said that National Conference is the only party which firmly stands for peace, prosperity and unity of Jammu and Kashmir. She listed out various initiatives taken by National Conference from time to time for the empowerment of women, particularly living in far-flung areas.
The meeting was organized by Bharti Devi. Those who were present on the occasion included:- Pinky Khalsa District president Jammu Urban Women Wing, Joginder Kour, Sabita, Raji, Tilki, Rani and others.
Meanwhile, NC nominated Sakhi Mohd as District president Scheduled Tribe Cell for Gool-Arnas. Provincial president of the party for Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta inducted Sakhi Mohd DDC Member Gool as District president Scheduled Tribe Cell Gool-Arnas JKNC after approval from the leadership.
