JAMMU, Apr 6: Two women were fired upon by a person who barged into the victims’ cosmetic shop at Shiv Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar Police Station, here today.
The victims, identified as Neelam Devi wife of Rajesh Kumar and her sister-in law of Shiv Nagar were fired upon by Satish Malhora who had a land dispute with the former. The accused was accompanied by his son Sahil Malhora, who had entered into a verbal dual with the victims before firing incident. Both father and son also ransacked furniture and glasses of the cosmetic shop where the incident took place.
After getting information about the incident, police swung into action and arrested both father and son. The injured were rushed to hospital and their condition was stated to be stable.
A land dispute between the victim and accused was stated to be cause behind the incident.
An FIR number 35/2014 under Section 452, 427, 336, 325, (Arms Act) RPC has been registered in this connection at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and further investigation was on.
