JAMMU, June 16: Former Dy. Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, said that the nation is scaling new heights in all matters and the women have a great role in nation building.
Addressing a large gathering of women here at Trikuta Nagar on the occasion of launching of membership drive by BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu district under its district president, Rekha Mahajan,
Kavinder said that in BJP the women are contributing in strengthening the party and the party stands for their socio-economic upliftment. He asked the Mahila Morcha activists to help the poor and needy in availing the benefits of various welfare schemes launched by Narendra Modi Government exclusively for the women.
Kavinder along with State Prabhari membership drive, Jugal Dogra ,district president BJP, Baldev Singh Billawaria, district general Secretary, Vinay Gupta,Mahila Morcha Seh Prabhari, Anuradha Charak,Incharge Jammu Poonch Parliamentary Constituency, Sanjita Dogra and district president, Rekha Mahajan also welcomed new entrants into Mahila Morcha and later distributed 200 saplings among women to be planted in connection with plantation drive.
Baldev Singh Billawaria, while addressing the gathering said that almost 50 per cent of the population is of women and their services are of great importance for the State and the nation.
District general secretary, Vinay Gupta said that today’s world is incomplete without taking women together in every field and that the party too need their support to be more strong.
Earlier Kavinder inaugurated several lanes and drains in Ward No. 45, Digiana in Gandhi Nagar Constituency along with party MLC Ch. Vikram Randhawa., He said the works for these lanes and drains were undertaken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at an estimated cost of Rs 12 lakh.
He said that massive developmental and beautification works are being undertaken in Gandhi Nagar constituency for the benefit of people. While addressing the gathering after He said that these works will benefit a large number of people, adding that by completion of these public importance works, long pending demand of the people has been fulfilled. He said that a massive programme for beautification of Gandhi Nagar Constituency has also been launched under which various parks and gardens are being revitalized in the area for the people, besides several other projects are also being executed which are in various stages of development.
