JAMMU, June 27: Demanding closure of wine shop, the women held protest at Arnia, today.
Large number of women assembled outside wine shop at Arnia and held protest.
The protesting women also blocked the vehicular movement by burning tyres on the road.
Amid slogans, the protesters demanded immediate closure of the wine shop.
The ladies alleged that the wine shop in their area is affecting their families and should be closed immediately. They also tried to lock the wine shop
After getting information, Tehsildar Arnia Gurpreet Singh and a police team led by SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar rushed to the spot and assured the protesting ladies of taking up the issue with the concerned authorities on priority basis.
On the assurance, the protesting women dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
