JAMMU, Apr 18: Former Minister and senior National Conference (NC) leader today said that the BJP Government has utterly failed to check steep rise in prices of essential commodities and the heat of it is being felt by common woman while managing the kitchen.
While addressing a meeting of NC women workers at Jaswan in Marh, Sadhotra said the tall claims of BJP to lower down the prices during 2014 Parliament elections has proved to be hollow and havoc. “BJP came to power in 2014 at the Centre and the State and in 2019 at the Centre and now ruling the J&K UT directly but it could not keep its promises and instead steep rise in prices have put heavy load on the pocket of common man.
He said frequent rise in prices of the petroleum products/ petrol/diesel/cooking gas has given flip to overall rise in prices and the BJP Government has turned silent spectator. It has become very difficult for common woman to run the kitchen, Sadhotra added.
The senior NC leader asked the women folk to understand the designs of the BJP Government which only comes with tall false promises during elections and then forget to see towards common man. The common man has come under the huge credit due to debris of false and tall promises of BJP, he alleged.
The former Minister asked the BJP Government to put Rs 10,000 in account of every household by cash transfer in view of unprecedented rise in prices, unemployment and COVID-19 pandemic.
