Wood Suppliers Union discusses demands

JAMMU, May 15: A meeting of All J&K Wood Suppliers Union was held at Bantalab near here, today under the chairmanship of Bashir Ahmed Malik.
The meeting was attended by a large number of members of the Union as well as members of plantation trade. Gulzar Ahmed Pardesi social worker was the chief guest on the occasion.
The various issues were discussed in the meeting by the participants. Narotam Dutt Sharma, secretary of the Union expressed his anguish over the apathetic attitude of the Government towards the masses of the Jammu region engaged in the wood supply and plantation trade. He said these people are facing many hardships.
Abdul Majid Khan district president Udhampur said that unnecessary interference of Forest and Revenue Departments have pushed these traders to starvation.
Gulzar Ahmed Pardesi social and political activist said that the issue was already taken with general secretary (Org) BJP Ashok Koul as well as the Forest Minister Choudhary Lal Singh who have been requested to resolve the problems of the traders and wood suppliers. He expressed the hope that the Government will mitigate the sufferings of the people dealing with this trade.
