KATHUA, June 23: The work on up-gradation of 10 mgw transformer was started at Power Station Marheen of Kathua district today.
The directives of installation of 10mgw transformer at power station were issued by Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma. Within 24 hours after the instructions given by Union Minister the department started work on installation of transformer at Power Station, Marheen.
The department is hopeful that the work will be completed soon and it will make the power supply better in the area.
The issue was taken up by Sarpanches, Rahul Hans, Dewan Singh and Vikas Singh during the campaigning of Lok Sabha elections with the Minister. Dr Jitendra Singh had assured them that the demand will be solved after the elections are over.
Two days back the Sarpanches also took up the issue with the Union Minister who issued directives to Divisional Commissioner to visit the area and settle the demand of the people.
