SRINAGAR, July 18: The district administration Baramulla has expedited the construction of underground safety bunkers along LoC in Uri and Boniyar with work orders issued for majority of constructions.
The details reveal that there are 44 such bunkers that are to be constructed in Tehsil Uri and Boniyar, out of which work order has been issued for 36 such structures.
Works of all the 44 bunkers have been tendered out while 36 tenders have been termed as successful and the work orders have been issued.
Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla G N Itoo while giving the details told Excelsior that the target for the completion of these works have been set as 60 days each for the bunkers being constructed in Uri and Boniyar.
Officials further said that the estimated cost of each bunker comes around Rs 10 lakh, while each community bunker will comprise of two rooms beside a washroom. Each of these bunkers is said to accommodate more than 20 people.
The spots where the works on the bunkers has already started include Thajal, Churanda, Batgra, Mothal and Tilawari villages along the LoC.
