Workers, employees, pensioners hold joint meeting to highlight grievances

JAMMU, Nov 4: A joint meeting of the representatives of the J&K Employees and Workers Joint Action Committee (R) and J&K Pensioners Forum was held at Kashmir as well as in Jammu for highlighting the grievances and demands.
The meeting accused the State Government of adopting dilly dallying tactics to hoodwink the employees, teacher and workers. “Thousands of daily rated casual, need based seasonal workers have not been regularized by the Government while the three Government committees have proved to be a an exercises in futility as the coalition Government did not implement the agreements made by it, the committee members said.
Highlighting the plights of pensioners, the meet criticized the Government for implementing the pattern in lounge for enhancing the pension every 5 years.
The meet also demanded medical insurance coverage for all the State employees and pensioners on Central pattern scheme. It is discriminatory that bureaucrats, MLAs, MLCs and Minister have been brought under medical insurance cover but the same is denied to workers and retired employees, the speakers said. The meet also demanded payment of dues of the pensioners.
The joint meeting at Srinagar, held under the presidium of   Rafiq Ahmad Khanyari general secretary, was attended by the representatives of State committee and activists from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
The prominent leaders, who addressed the  meeting and  expressed their views about the agenda, included Ghulam  Ahmad  Nath,  Gh Mohd Rather, Molvi Mohd Ramzan, Mohd Yousef  Rather, Sangey Dourgey, Mohd Ismiel Kambay, Zahoor Aallam, Sanjay Dhar, Mir Shafeeq Ahmad,  Mohd Yousef Khanday, Shah Nazir Ahmad, Mohd Hussain, Rinchin Narboo, Kuldeep Singh, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Jigjit Gaylop,  Raise Ahmad Ghazi,  Mohd Yousef Bhat, Mohd Ayub Pandit and  Fayaz Ahmad Dagloo.
