JAMMU, Aug 6: A meeting of the Central Working Committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K was held today at Dogra Sadar Sabha Bhawan Jammu, under the chairmanship of Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president of the Sabha, in which various important issues were deliberated upon.
The meet decided that 120th meeting of the General Council of the Sabha will be organized in the month of September, 2024 and an intellectual cell will be constituted in the Sabha to deliberate upon the issues pertaining to the history, culture and heritage of the Dogras.
During the meet, members of the ex-Servicemen Cell of the Sabha were asked to take up the issues regarding “Balidan Stambh” with the Army and Civil authorities for making the proper arrangement for the visitors, visiting there to pay tribute and starting the light and sound program in the complex.
According to a press statement, Dogra Sadar Sabha also decided to take up the issue of Numberdars and Chowkidars with the authorities and organize a conference of these institutions in near future to activate them.
Further, the Sabha will take-up the case of implementation of the Smart City Project, restoration and conservation works going on in the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and also steps taken to save the slopes behind the palaces of this historic complex.
On the demand of the members, it was decided that the Sabha will immediately appeal to all the political parties to take up the case of the restoration of Statehood with the Government of India.
Charak highlighted various activities of the Dogra Sadar Sabha and the meet concluded with vote of thanks by Col Karan Singh Jamwal, Vice president of the Sabha. Among others, who expressed their views in the meeting, included Prem Sagar Gupta, Col Virendra Sahi, Maj Gen Sunita Kapoor, Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja, Lt Gen R K Sharma, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Amanat Ali Shah, Pritam Singh Charak, Balwinder Singh, Narinder Singh Jamwal, Chhatter Singh , Chhanker Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Madan Lal Bhagat, Sukhdev Singh, Numberdar Raj Kumar, OP Sangra , Krishan Kumar, Prem Pal Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Dharam Chand, Virender Gupta, Pawan Sharma and Rahul Gupta.
