JAMMU, Apr 25: Secretary Horticulture/Agriculture Production Department, Manzoor Ahmad Lone today reviewed the working of State Level Project Screening Committee (SLPSC), State Level Executive Committee (SLEC) and State Empowered Committee (SEC) of different Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) schemes.
In a meeting Lone reviewed the physical and financial achievements made during 2018-19 under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA), National e-Governance Plan Agriculture (NeGP-A) and also deliberated on various components of the Action Plans under the mentioned schemes for 2019-20.
The Secretary asked the Head of Departments and Field Officers to reach out to farmers for generating awareness and dissemination of various technological and management interventions amongst them for the sustainability of agriculture and allied activities.
He called making farming more remunerative and emphasized upon converging the efforts of Agriculture, Horticulture and other Allied sectors for implementation of various CSS to ensure timely utilization of funds under various components and to create a visible impact on ground.
The Secretary Lone emphasized to raise the income of the farmers by mobilizing the farming community into Farmers Produces Organizations (FPOs) and through promotion of local specialty crops, organic farming, production of quality seeds, diversified and integrated farming system for doubling the farm income.
Earlier Director Agriculture, Kashmir, who is also State Mission Director of RKVY/NMSA/NeGP-A, A.A Andrabi gave detailed presentation regarding objectives, vision and physical/financial achievements of various schemes during 2018-19 and plans proposed for 2019-20.
