Workshop for Women Managers begins at KU

Resource persons and guests in a workshop on Women Managers at KU.

SRINAGAR, May 27: Under UGC’s scheme of ‘Capacity Building of Women Managers’ (CBWM) in Higher Education,’ a week -long workshop on “Management Skills Enhancement Modules” is being organized by Women’s Studies Centre, Kashmir University from today at Gandhi Bhawan.
The workshop is being sponsored by UGC and National Consultative Committee for Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education.
The inaugural event of the workshop was presided over by Dean Academic affairs Prof A M Shah who told the women participants of the workshop that if they wanted to be successful leaders they need to have commitment, give employees courage to argue and develop a right kind of attitude for work around them.
In her inaugural address, former Chairperson UGC and Chairperson (CBWM) in Higher Education, Prof Armaity S Desai said that the program has been mooted with an aim to increase the women participation in policy and decision-making as well as ensuring gender sensitivity in governance and administration in the University system of education.
Co-Chairperson (CBWM) in Higher Education, Prof Susheela Kausik and Core Group Resource Person (North-West) Region, Prof Pam Rajput termed the scheme as visionary and explained its benefits.
Earlier Prof Neelofar Khan presented the welcome address.
Prof Harsha Parekh noted Financial Management expert spoke about costing, budgets and budgeting concepts in the first three technical sessions.
Noted speakers from across the country will act as resource persons in 20 technical sessions which are to follow for another 6 days.
