Workshop for mobile school teachers begins

JAMMU, Jan 19: In order to foster scientific temperament and the art of hands on activities among teachers of mobile schools of J&K, workshop on popularization of science activities under ST plan (project) commenced in the State Institute of Education, Jammu.
The workshop has been organized by the Vigyan Prasar, Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt of India, Noida and National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS), Jammu.
B  K Tyagi, Scientist – E, Vigyan Prasar interacted with the participants and gave brief account of the workshop. In the technical session, he demonstrated various activities related to nature such as testing of soil & water samples, preparation of polyhouse and other activities related to laws of nature with main focus on symmetry, gravity, etc.
Jawaid Alam, Master resource person, Patna and  Zia Ahmed Khan, Master resource person, Aligarh, demonstrated various activities such as seed germination, Jar Method, Sand Culture and  Stone culture in addition to preparation of pooter, antarium, Earthworm home, sweep net and so on.
Dr Ashaq Hussian and Arshad Hussain Dev from Kishtwar performed various activities for explaining science behind so called miracle prevailing among the society.
Earlier, Kuldeep Gupta, Master GGHSS Shastri Nagar and programme coordinator gave briefing of the details of the ongoing activities during the workshop.
S K Raina, field advisor, SIE, Jammu also witnessed the programme.
