JAMMU, Mar 19: A workshop dedicated to 5G/6G and EMF awareness organised by Japyee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) held here today.
The highlights of the event were the inauguration of the newly developed digital learning centre by the Chairman of AICTE followed by the announcement of the plans of JIIT to provide new courses on Advance communication technology 5G, 6G and EMF Awareness technology.
The workshop was inaugurated by Gunjan Dave, Member Digital communication commission under the department of Telecommunications (DoT).
Dave in her opening remarks, emphasise the power of %g technology, projecting it as a cornerstone for future telecommunications.
She highlighted that the technology promises to dramatically change how we connect, communicate and experience our surrounding with its high speeds, low latency and unmatched reliability.
Prof BR Mehta, the Vice Chancellor of JIIT Noida, informed that JIIT is the first university in India to give admission to students on the basis of innovation potential removing the admission barrier based on conventional admission criterion.
He also praised the collaborative achievements of the JIIT community particularly noting the creation of 5G Use Case Lab, funded by the DoT as part of the national ‘1005G use cases labs initiative” alongside the establishment of a VLSI fabrication facility.
Prof Shweta Srivastava, Dean, Academics and Research and HoD of ECE, JIIT mentioned that the Institute is committed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to excel in the field of 5G and VLSI technology.
Concluding the workshop, Dr Alok Joshi and Dr Bajrang Bansal the coordinators, thanked the speakers, experts from DoT and professionals from the telecom Industry for their valuable contributions.
They highlighted the diversity of the attendees, which included the students, faculty and heads of the neighbouring, LSAs underscoring the workshop success in fostering a comprehensive understanding of the latest communication technologies.
