JAMMU, Feb 29: The Inter College Workshop on Faculty Development Programme on the topic “Enhancing Experiential Learning through Interacting / Game Base Content and New Pedagogical Tools in Education”, organised by Department of English, Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu in collaboration with ICFAI Business School, Gurgaon Campus concluded here today.
Lauding the efforts of the Department of English for organizing the capacity building workshop, Principal of the College Prof. J.L. Bhagat said that such workshops would go a long way in keeping the participating faculty abreast with the latest teaching tools. He also called for organizing more such workshops, seminars for the benefit of faculty.
The workshop was divided into four sessions, with two sessions exclusively based on “Innovative Teaching through Interactive and Game based Content” and “Experiential learning through Case Study”. The other two sessions were on “Teaching Pedagogy for experiential learning” and “Understanding Learning Styles to enhance Your Teaching Methods”.
Presenting the welcome address, Prof Archana Kaul, HoD English, highlighted the need for a change in the classroom teaching learning environment.
Prof. Sangeeta Shahane, faculty IBS Gurgaon, was the Resource Person for the workshop, while Prof Anjali Mahajan conducted the proceedings of the workshop.
Faculty members from Govt. G.G.M Science College, Govt. College for Women, Parade, Govt. MAM College, Govt. City College, Paloura, Govt. Degree College Samba, IMS College Patoli, Trikuta Degree College and also the host college participated in the workshop.
In the valedictory session, the report was presented by Prof. Pawan Gupta, while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Anita Kumari. The entire programme was coordinated by Sunny Kumar, Event Manager IBS and Paramjeet Singh, Marketing Officer, Jammu.
