Workshop on IEC campaign against malnutrition

SRINAGAR, Aug 26: A one day Orientation workshop on Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign against “Malnutrition” was today held at the Auditorium of All India Radio Kashmir, here.
The function was organised by Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chandigarh Regional Centre in collaboration with Food and Nutrition Board, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India and Directorate of Social Welfare Department, Kashmir.
The Director of Social Welfare, Farooq Ahmed Khan was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed for provision of healthy diet to the children so that they do not only be physically and mentally fit but also become good citizens and be capable to face the day to day challenges with bold face.
Appreciating the steps taken by the Song & Drama Division in spreading the information about various welfare schemes launched by the State and Central Governments for the benefits of the common people especially about good health and nutrition of children, mothers and adolescent girls particularly living in far flung and remote areas, he said that efforts of the agency would directly put impact on the common public. He further said that Integrated Child Development Scheme is specially focussed on providing healthy nutrition to the children through thousands of Anganwari Centres located in every nook and corner of the State with regular health check-ups.
On the occasion, ADG, PIB, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department, Deputy Director, Song and Drama Division, GOI, Field Publicity Officer, GOI also spoke on the occasion.
