GANDERBAL, May 20: The three-day online workshop on “Mental Health, Life skills and Adjustment,” organised by the School of Education and Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW), Central University of Kashmir (CUK), in association with the Indian School Psychology Association (ISPA) for the Secondary School Teachers of the Valley, concluded on Wednesday.
In his valedictory address, Vice-Chancellor, CUK, Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir announced that CUK will collaborate with Central University of Jammu and Central University of Pondicherry for jointly organizing such workshops on a bigger platform in order to increase the reach across the length and breadth of the country.
Indian School Psychology Association (ISPA), President, Dr Panch Ramalingam, in his remarks appreciated the overall organization, structure and success of the aforementioned workshop.
Central University of Pondicherry, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Gurmeet Singh remarked that online teaching and learning is witnessing a huge success across the nation, especially in the wake of the present Covid-19 Pandemic. But, at the same time, he added that, nothing can replace the advantages and strengths of conventional or face to face mode of teaching and learning.
Central University of Jammu, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima, said: “Resilience is the need of the hour in order to absorb the shock given by the present pandemic.” He further noted that, crises have always been there, but humans have constantly evolved to manage those crises.
Registrar CUK, Prof Fayaz Ahmad Nika¸ thanked the participants for showing keen interest during all the three days while Prof Nighat Basu presented the Workshop Report and suggested ten important recommendations for furthering the cause of Mental Health Education.
The impressions and feedback given by the participating teachers from various secondary schools of Kashmir were encouraging and positive.
Prof Farooq Ahmad Shah, Organizing Secretary, delivered the welcome address while as Co-organizing Secretary, Dr Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, delivered the vote of thanks.
The valediction was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr Firdous Ahmad Sofal while as Assistant Prof Reyaz Ahmad Wani was the rapporteur.
