Srinagar, Feb 2: A 2-day workshop on investigation related procedure and technicalities in NDPS Act concluded today at the District Police Lines Awantipora.
The event was held by the Police in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Task Force J&K.
The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the investigative skills of Police Officers and to achieve higher conviction rates in NDPS act cases.
“The workshop was organized to refine the investigative skills of investigating officers and to update their knowledge with latest techniques and standard operating procedure to be adopted during investigation of cases registered under NDPS Act,” police said.
The main speakers in this workshop were Najeeb Hussain Nahvi, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Rumais Rasool, Assistant Public Prosecutor Special Mobile Magistrate Awantipora, Syed Mudasir, Inspector ANTF, Meheraj Ud Din, Inspector ANTF, Gowher Ali, Sub-Inspector ANTF.
The workshop was attended by SDPOs, SHOs. Incharge PPs and other investigating officers of District Police Awantipora.
Presentations were also given by officers of ANTF and Prosecution Department on various aspects of NDPS Act and related laws and procedures.
The resource persons delivered detailed lectures on NDPS Act, PIT-NDPS and Financial Investigations etc, police said.
