Workshop on ‘Recruitment Skills for MBA Students’ concludes at Kathua Campus

JAMMU, Sept 21: A three day pre-recruitment skills workshop for MBA students of Kathua Campus, concluded today.
Manjot K S Gill, Director and Chief Mentor, Mind Bridge Asia, was the resource person for the workshop, the objective of which was to prepare the students for final placements. The workshop focused on the present day’s corporate world’s expectations and requirement at the time of recruitment.
Mr Gill highlighted the attributes which are being sought by the corporate world and shared many tips to harness these attributes. He threw light on the changing scenario of corporate world and imparted necessary skills to cope up with it. The workshop had practical sessions on inculcating interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, communication skills, analytical ability etc. He deliberated on the smart goal formula which encompasses being realistic, specific, time bound and measurable. He also emphasized on how hard work mixed with smart work and a blend of intelligence with humility leads to a successful life.
While speaking during the closing ceremony, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus, laid stress on corporate exposure and how such workshops facilitate in students’ professional development. She deliberated on the importance of learning attitude among students along with acceptance of challenges with a smile. She further emphasize that Management essentially is all about choices and alternatives in the context of appropriate analysis of situations and resources for useful institutional contributions.
The workshop integrated the latest modifications in the domain of corporate selection. With practical exposure to mock Group Discussions and one-to-one mock interviews with the facilitation, the students were trained to clear the selection process of major corporate. The major focus was to instill confidence in the students before the campus interviews shall begin in University of Jammu. The latest practice in building the resumes was shared with the students in order to give them a head start over their competitors.
Mr Gill is the only certified facilitator in North India from the American Management Association (based in USA to run the flagship programmes of Daniel Goleman on Emotional Intelligence). His company provides leadership development trainings and productivity enhancement workshops to top organizations like G.E, ANZ Bank, Godfrey Philips, Wipro and Maruti Udhyog etc.
