Workshop on renewable energy & job prospects held at SMVDU

KATRA, Feb 16: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organised a national workshop on Renewable Energy: Current Affairs, Job Prospects, and Future Research, here today
The workshop brought together experts, professionals, and students to deliberate on the crucial aspects of renewable energy in India and its implementation. In-depth discussions were held on the current scenario of renewable energy in India, including policies, initiatives, challenges, and achievements.
Dr Yatheshth Anand, Assistant Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering and Coordinator of the programme, explained about the schedule of the awareness programme and stressed upon the need for the same.
Dr Vineet Veer Tyagi, Head, School of Energy Management and Dean R&D, highlighted the initiatives taken by the School of Energy Management for climate change mitigation.
In his address, Prof Ashutosh Vaishstha, Dean, Faculty of Management, SMVDU, highlighted the steps taken by SMVDU in organizing such events. He stressed that such events help in broadening the knowledge base of the participants.
Prof Ashutosh said that this workshop will make the participants understand the need for renewable energy and sustainable development.
Saswat Sourav Panda, Program Manager RE100 India at The Climate Group, shed light on the latest advancements in solar and biomass energy.
With the renewable energy sector emerging as a significant contributor to India’s energy mix, the workshop focused on exploring the diverse career opportunities available. Participants gained insights into various job roles, skill requirements, and career pathways in this rapidly growing sector.
Discussions revolved around technological innovations, sustainable practices, and potential solutions to address the evolving challenges in the field.
