Workshop on ‘Robotics’ concludes at Model Academy

JAMMU, Nov 22: Two day workshop on “Robotics” organised by Model Academy in association with TechFest IIT Bombay and Bootcamps concluded today.
In the workshop, students of Model Academy Jammu, Happy Model School and Army Public school, Udhampur participated.
On the first day, the participants were told about electronic components used in a robot and were given a brief review on advanced robots The students participated in interactive question and answer session, quizzes, power point presentation and live demos to facilitate easy understanding. They were also provided with preloaded DVD’s as a study material besides a wireless Robotics kit.
The workshop was particularly exciting for the participants as they were asked to assemble wireless robots under the guidance of IIT faculty.
On the second day, students took part in an amazing obstacle race competition.
Nipun Gupta, Manish Vali and Pankaj Tiwari were the resource persons.
While speaking, Rupa Gupta, Principal, Model Academy, said that such workshops will not only make them more creative and innovative thinkers with a chance to hone their skills and builds confidence in them to compete at the national level.
Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director, MIER highlighted the role of robotics in everyday lives and gave real life example as to where robots are assisting humans in creating better products and revolutionizing industrial development.
The participants competed with their counterparts to emerge as the best. Sourabh Singh, Aneek- Bin- Qasim, Ajmal Farooq and Abdul Rouf of Model Academy School emerged as winners and now will participate in national competition.
All the participants were awarded with certificates from Techfest, IIT Bombay and Boot camps India. The winning team of Model Academy was also awarded certificate of merit.
The coordinators of the workshop were Monika Bhat from Bootcamp India, Prince Sharma and Rajni Bhat of the school.
