Workshop on Waste Management, Healthy Tiffin Competition held

JAMMU, May 13: To inculcate healthy environmental practices among students, JP World School, Channi organized workshop on waste management in association with State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Jammu.
Anuradha, Scientist Incharge EW and MSW, J&K SPCB, Jammu was the resource person.
Principal, Jitinder Singh Hundal presented the welcome address. He expressed his commitment to make school campus eco friendly by declaring JPWS as Green Campus,
Anuradha gave a very good presentation on classification and segregation of different types of waste and their harmful effects on environment and how we can reduce reuse and recycle different waste material. She urged students and teachers to spread this message in their neighborhood to stop use of polythene bags as they are non-biodegradable.
In its bid to inculcate healthy food habits among students and to teach them table manners, Healthy Tiffin Competition was also organized today by the junior wing of JP World School under the guidance of Heena Narang, Junior Wing Coordinator.
The assessment was done on the basis of nutritious value, presentation, table manners etc.
Sargun, Jasmine and Noor from Nursery, Rehan, Sanskriti and Akshat from LKG, Sayam, Kavish, Phalak and Amarjeet from UKG, Arhaan, Sonashi, Passa, Mayank, Gurvinder and Anshika from class 1st, Puneet, Nitish, Rishika, Anshika, Dishmeet, Anant and Sonal from class 2nd, Krish, Abhiroop Singh Hundal, Harshit, Ayesha, Jasmeet, Anshika and Shubam from class 3rd, Abhisher, Ishan, Maysa, Krish, Manik, Diyansh and Nazish from class 4th were declared as winners.
