World Health Day celebrated with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Apr 7: World Health Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal.
To commemorate World Health Day, a street play is being performed by GNM students of Bee Enn Nursing Institute at Super Speciality Hospital GMC Jammu from April 1 to 15. This was followed by Rangoli on “World Health Day”, poster making presentation and speeches along with documentaries related to theme and the day. Dr Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent, Dr Deepak Kumar Deputy Medical Superintendent, Matron, Nursing Supervisors, various incharges, nurses, paramedical staff, technicians and administrative section officals were present on the occasion.

GMC Jammu celebrated World Health Day, in which GMC students took part. The whole process started on March 26 with the observance of World TB Day under the aegis of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine with active involvement of Department of Community Medicine and Directorate of Health Services Jammu. On the occasion, Dr Dinesh Kumar, HOD Community Medicine delivered the lecture. Students visited rural areas of RS Pura and slum pockets in Trikuta Nagar and imparted health awareness. Students also made videos of the health education activities and the winners were presented certificate of appreciation. It was followed by WHO Quiz and the winning teams were awarded trophies and certificates by Principal and Dean Dr Sunanda Raina along with galaxy of doctors including HODs.
On the occasion of World Health Day, extension lecture on the theme ‘General health Issues and their mitigation’ was organized by Government Degree College, Udhampur. Dr Arun Mahajan was the resource person on the occasion. Deputy Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr.Vijay Raina, Principal, Dr SK Magotra, Vice Principal, Dr Udhey Bhanu, Prof Romesh Kumar Atri, Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, Prof Kamal Kishore, Dr Vipul Chalotra, NSS and NCC volunteers were present on the occasion.
To mark the World Health Day and as a part of on-going Swachhata Pakhwara, the State National Health Mission (NHM) in collaboration with health, ISM and other allied departments organized a mega 2-day free Health and Screening Camp at Bhalwal Block. Mission Director, NHM, Dr Yashpal Sharma, Director Family Welfare, Dr Sameer Mattoo, Director Health Services, Dr. Gurjeet Singh and many others were present on the occasion. More than 1200 children from Anganwadi Centres and local schools were screened by a team of senior doctors. Free medicines were given to children suffering with minor health problems. 24 children were identified for providing financial assistance under RBSK for getting treatment at tertiary care health institutions. The adolescent girls were provided with more than 200 free sanitary pads.
To celebrate World Health Day, a number of awareness camps were organized in the various health facilities of Medical Block Ramgarh, Samba and Purmandal areas of Samba District. The main function was held at Community Health Centre Ramgarh, where chief guest CMO Samba Dr Rajinder Samyal expressed his views. Dr Suman Gupta, DHO Samba, Dr Lakhwinder Singh, BMO Ramgarh, Dr Vinod Kumar Katil, Physician, Dr Jyoti Jolly, District Asha Coordinator and many others were present on the occasion.
Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu today celebrated World Health Day. President Balwinder Singh Rinku, Chairman AS Khera Advocate, Pawan Sharma Vice President, Hardeep Singh Vice-President, Sanjeev Talwar General Secretary, Maninder Singh Narula Joint Secretary, Raju Katyal, Ajay Mahajan Senior Vice-President, Randeep Singh Press Secretary and many others expressed their views regarding health issues.
To celebrate World Health Day, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged musical play “Doli” in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education. The play was written, produced and directed by ML Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS. The programme was inaugurated by VK Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India in presence of Dr Tara Singh Charak Former Chief Medical Officer, RP Amla, Event Director, JK Raina, Freelancer Producer and Director, Dr Anju Dogra from Health Department and MC Kotwal, General Secretary BLSKS. The singers, musician, actors and students, who performed in the play, were Usha Handoo, MC Kotwal, Dhruv Pandit, Rakshit, Ujwal, Sakshi, Sumeeta Bhat, Uttam Singh, Darshan Rajwal, Bindiya, Mathali, Materi, Kamli and Neelam. Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
