JAMMU, May 15: Department of Orthodontics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu celebrated World Orthodontic Health Day (WOHD) under the mentorship of Professor Dr Akshay Gupta.
This Day is celebrated throughout the world by the Orthodontic fraternity to create awareness regarding the benefits of orthodontic treatment in overall dental wellbeing of patients.
Dr Parveen Lone (Principal and Dean of the College) was invited as chief guest. She inaugurated the event and also encouraged all faculty and doctors for their selfless work towards creating awareness of Orthodontics to common masses of Jammu province.
Orthodontic awareness campaign was initiated in Department of Orthodontics, wherein awareness posters made by dental graduates and PG students were displayed for public awareness. The copies of articles, for educating common masses towards the speciality of orthodontics, were distributed to parents and school children and they were asked to report to the Department for correction of their orthodontic ailments.
Dr Arvind (Associate Professor), Dr Sneh (Assistant Professor), Dr Vikas, Dr Ahtisham, Dr Anurag, Dr Zubair, Dr Reetika, Dr Hemali, Dr Sultan, Dr Anjali, Dr Divya, Dr Aditi and Varinder Singh played a pivotal role in organizing the programme.
