JAMMU, Nov 9: World Radiography Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the entire Radiology fraternity at the Auditorium-cum-Lecture Hall of Chest Diseases (CD) Hospital in Jammu.
In a notable first, radiological technicians and staff from GMC Jammu and all associated hospitals attended the event. The event saw the presence of dignitaries, including Dr Parmod Kalsotra, the officiating principal; Dr Vipan Magotra, HoD Radiology; Dr Rehana Khursheed, Medical Superintendent (MS) of SSH; and Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Medical Superintendent of CD Hospital. Faculty members from the Radiology Department were also in attendance, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
During the celebration, speakers highlighted the indispensable role of the Radiology Department in modern diagnostics, acknowledging the vital contributions of radiological technicians and staff. They emphasized the Department’s critical support in various diagnostic procedures, such as X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs, and PET scans, all of which play an essential role in patient care and treatment planning.
A traditional cake-cutting ceremony marked the event, symbolizing unity and appreciation for the radiology team. Following this, dignitaries and all invited radiological technicians and staff were honoured with mementoes as a token of gratitude for their dedication and unwavering service.
