JAMMU, Apr 18: Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar (WSGNN) Jammu urged upon the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to undertake a proper cleanliness and sanitation drive in wake of the ongoing fresh wave of Corona Virus.
“Although every house is being charged with Rs 100 per month but there is shortage of garbage collecting vehicles and staff because of which heaps of garbage are lying at every nook and corner,” said Balwinder Singh Rinku (president of Welfare Society, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu).
He said that when there were very few cases of Corona in the city, the Corporation had undertook sanitation drive but now when the city is facing threat of exploration of COVID 19 and sanitation of the public places is a must then there is total absence of the same.
Singh also showed concern with regard to non maintenance of social distancing and not using face mask by general public and shopkeepers in particular. He advised the people with 45 years of age and above to get them vaccinated.
