SAMBA, Jan 2: Reacting to an SOS call by few families in distress at Channi Manhasa in Vijaypur, We the Human Forum (WTHF) for Nature and Mankind today in collaboration with Swasthya Evam Shiksha Charitable Trust, New Delhi distributed six blankets and 30 COVID-19 hygiene kits to the needy families at Panchayat Ghar of Channi Manhasa.
Capt. Lalit Sharma, Forum Vice Chairman, Sanna Khan, Office Secretary, Sarpanch Baldev Raj along with Panchs were also present on the occasion.
Capt. Sharma, while addressing the gathering said the Forum has been involved in generating awareness about different environmental issues and has been successful in causing ripples among mindsets of people as well as the policy makers, executives and others.
He said, during peak time of COVID-19 pandemic in J&K, the Forum in collaboration with SSP Office Jammu, Sarveshwar Foods, Nimbark Organics, Swasthya Evam Shiksha Charitable Trust and a number of its members with philanthropic approach distributed ration and COVID-19 hygiene kits among over 3000 families in distress.
Sharma also said that the Forum with the help of local forest officers also planted more than 2000 saplings of indigenous species.
