JAMMU, Jan 30: To provide a relief to the residents of Sadnaru and other adjoining villages facing acute shortage of water, the Executive Engineer, PHE Division Sopore in North Kashmir district of Baramulla Ghulam Rasool Laharwal today assured the villagers that the Ghulam Yari Hastikan Water Supply Scheme will be taken up in hand soon.
The Executive Engineer was talking to senior citizens during his visit to Sadnaru village in Sumbal tehsil of Bandipora district who turned his attention towards the acute water scarcity faced by them in the area.
The issue was raised by Haji Bashir Ahmed Dar, Ghulam Qadir Rather, Mushtaq Ahmed Wagey, Abdul Rehman Wagey and Mohamed Amin Hajam who showed serious concern over the water scarcity problem saying that people are put to lot of trouble due to the same especially in the Winter months.
The Executive Engineer assured the people that the tenders for the water supply scheme will be called soon so that work can be started on it as early as possible.
