BEIJING, Dec 2: Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump have agreed to exchange visits in due course, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, following the two leaders’ talks on the G20 sidelines on Saturday.
President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump have agreed to exchange visits at the appropriate time,? Wang was quoted by the Xinhua news agency as saying after the talks in Argentina. Wang noted that the leaders had also agreed that Chinese-US relations ?must be normalized. According to Wang, the bilateral meeting lasted for two and a half hours, and was held in a candid and friendly atmosphere, while the talks were very positive.
Earlier, the White House announced that Trump had agreed to temporarily postpone the idea of raising the tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese products from 10 percent to 25 percent starting from January 1, 2019, in order to pave the way for trade talks with Beijing.
Meanwhile, the Xinhua news agency also reported, citing the Chinese Foreign Ministry, that the two countries had agreed to expedite talks toward eliminating all additional tariffs.
